Leeds Rhinos are the current Super League Champions and have been for 3 consecutive years. They are one of the original twenty-two rugby clubs that formed the Northern Rugby Football Club in 1895, making them one of the world’s first rugby league teams. They have played in Headingley Carnegie Stadium since 1890, and a new Carnegie stand was opened in 2006.
Leeds played twice in the World Club Challenge 2005, and 2008. They won the premiership twice in 1974-5 and 1978-9 and bettered that in 2009 by again winning 2007-8-9. Some memorable Leeds players include Arthur Clues, Ellery Hanley, Vic Hey, John Holmes, Lewis Jones, Danny McGuire, Gary Schofield and Frederick Webster.
Leeds joined ISC in season 2008.
