Leeds have been part of Rugby League ever since the game was created in 1895. Rugby has been played at Headingley Carnegie Stadium since its creation in 1890 when the old Leeds St Johns club became the football section of the newly created Leeds Cricket, Football and Athletic Company.
Leeds won the Challenge Cup at Wembley in 1999 and then ended a 32 year wait to be Champions with victory in the Grand Final at Old Trafford in 2004. Better was to come from 2007 until 2009 when Leeds became the first ever team to win three Grand Finals in a row and also picked up two World Club titles and the League Leaders Shield.
