Established in 1991, Leeds Carnegie play in the top tier rugby competition in the UK, the Aviva Championship.
Founded through a partnership between Leeds Rugby and Leeds Metropolitan University, Carnegie have bounced between the Aviva and RFU (Division One) Championship over the past few seasons however a solid 2009-2010 season saw them remain in the top tier competition and has led to the club becoming a full shareholder in Premier Rugby for the 2010-2011 season.
