One of the oldest clubs in League, the Sydney Roosters formed in 1908 as the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club. In 1911 Easts started a 75-year relationship with the Sydney Sports Ground that started with a bang as the club secured three titles on the trot and are often referred to as the most awarded club winning 12 first grade premierships.

The club has nurtured 74 Internationals and 7 Test/World Cup captains Herbett Dally Messenger, Larry O'Malley, Dave Brown, Wally O'Connell, Arthur Beestson, Bob Fulton, Brad Fittler and John Brass being a World Cup Captain.
