The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles were established in 1947 and adopted the maroon and white colours along with the native bird of prey of the Sydney coastline - the Sea Eagle as their logo.
Manly's first premiership game was against Wests at Brookvale oval on Saturday April 12, 1947 and were defeated in a tight 15 -13 score line. They have a long and successful club history winning 7 premierships. Their most recent premiership victory was in 2008 against the Melbourne Storm - fanned by home support Manly slowly but surely ground down the Storm until the second half where they came away with a record 40-0 thrashing.
