Founded in 1967. This relatively young club has been grand finalists on 3 occassions. They were unfortunate to be beaten by Manly with a score of 10-7 in 1973. The sharks were unable to prove Manly wrong the following year with an 11 all draw. In 1997 the Sharks qualified for their first grand final in 20 seasons but lost the Super League decider to the Brisbane Broncos' 26-8. Boasting 22 Internationals with 2 Test/World Cup Captains Greg Pearce and Steve Rogers. Notable names include; Steve Rogers, Gavin Miller, Greg Pierce, David Waite, Dane Sorensen, Andrew Ettingshausen and Mat Rogers.
